The Salon by VIVA

-

This is one of the most beautiful salons you will ever see, with everything under one roof. You can normally find me there, hanging out in the Pilates studio or getting a mani-pedi, but it’s such a treat to have a blow-dry at the same time.

The amazing stylist Felix has over 15 years of experience and does a great job making you feel a million dollars before you walk out of the salon. I have hair extensions, so the full range of Kevin Murphy sulphate-free products they use are perfect for me.

On my last visit, a gentle hair wash and massage was followed by a beautiful blow-dry. My hair is usually straight, so Felix used the GHD styler to create some beautiful beach waves that were then set with a light hairspray ready for my evening dinner. The products smell amazing and truly last – even the next day, while the waves had dropped slightly, my hair still looked bouncy. Try it – you’ll love this place!

Expat Hair Studio

I had a great blow-out after my recent cut and highlights at Expat Hair Studio. I don’t often get “smoothed” so it was nice to have a change. After drying my hair, Kat used the GHD curler to do these casual beachy curls and I loved it. It felt neat but natural, and a bit more modern than the regular blow-dries. If my hair is blow-dried too straight, it just goes really flat and then I end up washing it again! This was perfect. It does make you think how easy it is to just go and get one more regularly! Maybe I can add that to my New Year’s resolutions.

Blow-dries are from $55; also, if you need a bit more hair in volume or length, remember they also do hair extensions!
