In this month’s column, we ask NMITA DOAK, founder of makeup brand Amplio, about how to make your eyes pop with stunning colours.

Blue Eyes

Blue-eyed ladies can easily sport black and coffee liners with mascara but stick to eyeshadows with rose, orange/yellow undertones and earthy shades for an eye-popping contrast. Don’t be afraid to play with a purple colour palette, such as Amplio Sands of Dubai. It could also be fun to dabble in gold, silver or frosty pink for a night out as these shades will create the most contrast. Don’t be afraid to go matchy-matchy, however, if you have very light blue eyes and fair skin, keep the application light to avoid it looking too harsh.

Brown Eyes

The world is your oyster! For deep/ medium-brown eyes, choose colours that are close to forest green, mauves, golds and charcoal grey. Amplio Jewels of India Palette is my favourite for this as it covers all colours. Brown and black liners work very well with deep brown eyes, while lighter brown eyes should stick to dark brown. Apply a neutral shade on your lid and create dimension to your eye by using similar shades in the crease.

Green Eyes

Dare I say it: purple! Smoke out your lids with a rich purple and your eyes will pop. I also adore warm shades with copper and gold accents for green eyes. Another fab way to highlight your look is by choosing a peach or pink; Amplio 3-in-1 Cream blushes are fantastic for this. You can create a stunning popping eye, blush your cheeks and pucker up those lips with the one cream blush.
