MEET THE (USUALLY-CAMERA-SHY) FEMALE TEAM

-

NOELLE LOH, EDITOR-IN-CHIEF

Tell us something interesting about you. “When working for the national daily years ago, I had the painful task of staking out clubs and the likes for people to feature in a weekly street style column. Guess you can say that I secretly liked it.”

CARLOS KENG, SENIOR FEATURES WRITER

Tell us something interesting about you. “A recent obsession is Emily Spivack’s book Worn Stories, a compilation of stories by different folks speaking about seemingly ordinary garments that have special meaning for them. It explores the oftencomplex yet intangible relationship people have with their clothes – an anthropological aspect of this fastmoving industry that deserves more critical coverage.”

IMRAN JALAL, DIGITAL EDITOR

What were you thinking about when you were getting dressed today? “Should I go with sneakers, slides or Mary Janes?”

CHIA WEI CHOONG, FASHION EDITOR

What are you wearing? “My shirt is from the Thai label Theatre – I got it more than a decade ago on a school trip to Bangkok. It’s constructed to look like two shirts layered over one another, but is actually one piece that folds over at the shirt hem. The pants are from Muji and the clogs, Birkestock. I wear them pretty much everyday.”

JONATHAN CHIA, ART DIRECTOR

What are you wearing? “All Yohji – except the plimsolls, which are from Vans.”

HISYAM A RAHMAN, SENIOR GRAPHIC DESIGNER

What were you thinking about when you were getting dressed today? “I wanted to feel and look like I’m headed for a slumber party even though I was office-bound. I also wanted another wear out of this parka before it goes into the laundry pile. ”
