My Favourite Things
Pang Shuxin, Executive Director of Mothercare Singapore and mother to seven-month-old Noah, shares her top parenting picks and tips
BEST GADGETS FOR KIDS
Noah loves his Jumperoo from Fisher Price and it gives him a great workout. Totally worth the hefty price tag as he happily spends over an hour in it daily. No other toy keeps him entertained for that long.
CHILDREN’S BOOK
I read to Noah every day and he seems to never tire of Petr Horáček’s Run Mouse Run. I think he likes the catchy phrases and the vibrant illustrations.
WARDROBE ESSENTIALS FOR MOTHERS
I love my Toupy silk pants and Holster jellies. Other must-haves for mummies are Mothercare’s nursing bras and Spanx’s shapewear.
MOTHERHOOD TIPS
A great marriage is the best gift you can give your child. Post-baby, my husband and I have taken time out for a getaway to the Maldives and also attended a three-day marriage workshop.
KIDS’ FURNITURE
Stokke’s furniture encourages baby’s development through interaction with their environment. I’m also using the Tripp Trapp highchair and Xplory pushchair. The Baby Björn Bouncer is a favourite too.
It uses baby’s natural movement to soothe.
CHILDREN’S BRANDS
My sister’s Not Too Big boutique at Forum stocks great occasion wear from Joules and Milk on the Rocks, Snugalicious bamboo wear and Etiquette kids socks.
PREGNANCY CHIC
Jewellery and colourful sandals are great ways to spice up a wardrobe of maternity basics.
KIDS’ TRANSPORT
I always find myself reaching for my Baby Björn Carrier One when I go out with Noah as it allows me the versatility of carrying him facing outwards or inwards, promoting that closeness with him.
EASY SNACKS
Noah hasn’t been weaned yet but my husband has already bought a thermomix in anticipation of when he starts solids. I’m also planning on using the Babymoov steamer blender, which will enable me to prepare baby’s food in a f lash.
