HAIRCUT: I adore the teams both at Blow+Bar, and Kizuki and Lim. I’ve had great haircuts at both—they’re talented, understand a variety of hair texture and don’t try to impose ideas based on limited skills, which is what most salons do.

EYEBROWS: I’ve been threading my eyebrows at Suvin’s since I was 15. I remember my first visit vividly—I was preparing for the school prom. It’s a small simple place in Orchard Plaza and owner Suvin is the original queen of threading and waxing. Ask for either Suvin or Parveen and be prepared to never step foot into another threading salon again.

GYM OR FITNESS TRAINER: I am time-scarce, so I make it a point to weave in 30-minute morning workouts a couple of times a week with a personal trainer. I only like working out with folks who truly understand nutrition as well, are up to date and don’t advocate routines that are impossible to follow. My personal trainer Youri Kruse comes highly recommended.

MANICURE: A great manicure has nothing to do with décor—there are too many terrible manicurists working in beautiful salons. The ladies at Nail Bar @ 916 are exposed to a fantastic cross section of women and demands and the result is impeccable nails.

BODY SCRUB: If you can take two days off, hop on a ferry and get your body to The Spa at Tempat Senang Resort, on Batam Island.Their coffee and rice scrub is the best I have ever had. My skin felt supple and moisturised for days and I smelt like a tempting cup of espresso.

FACE WASH: I am a quick-fix girl. I vacillate between Philosophy’s Purity 3-in-1 Cleanser for Face and Eyes for daily cleansing, and Dermalogica’s PreCleanse Oil for heavy makeup days. The formula is magic: it goes on as a light oil to dissolve makeup, and transforms to a non-greasy cleansing milk with the addition of water.

FACE MASK: Masks have always left me unimpressed until I discovered For Beloved One’s Extreme Hydration Bio-Cellulose Mask. Jackpot! This is my go-to mask on long shoots, or when my sensitised skin is just exhausted from being continuously made up for work. Available at Sephora.

TONER: I don’t do 100 steps when it comes to skincare. It’s so gimmicky. But I do adore Sulwhasoo’s Essential Balancing Water. It’s a gentle geltextured toner that preps skin to receive hydration—and believe me, it does.
