“REVISITING NATURE”

Housed in one of the standout black and white houses along Adam road, the once centre of the British armed forced in Singapore, 7Adam Gallery and Restaurant is today an urban respite for art, culture and lifestyle. It holds its commitment to arts and culture locally and regionally and continues to represent artists within its premises as well as on the international platform. One of them, renowned Singaporean artist Kumari Nahappan will be represented by the gallery at Art Stage. Her exhibition “Revisiting Nature” is a celebration of the basic joys of nature. The artist is well known for her interesting representation of chilli peppers and this exhibition will feature works from her famous Song & Dance collection with an interesting mix of works from her Seeds and Pods series, it promises to be another unconventional take on the every day that we tend to take for granted. “Revisiting Nature” will be at Art Stage Singapore at Marina Bay Sands from 16 through 19 January 2014. 7Adam Gallery is at 7 Adam Park. “S ALVADOR DALI: THE PIERRE ARGILLET,”

The heart of Singapore’s chic restaurant hangout, Dempsey Hill is home to this army-barracks-turned gallery. From its inception in 2001, the expansive 6000 square feet of gallery space has housed retrospectives of contemporary international artists, established and emerging. In keeping with its commitment to art as a whole, the gallery also provides art rentals, consultancies and other value added services . This March, the gallery brings “Salvador Dali: The Pierre Argillet,” an exhibition specially curated by the eccentric artist’s publisher, Pierre Argillet’s daughter Christine. The first one of its kind in Asia, expect a rare glimpse into Dali’s lesser known sketches, copper plate etchings and tapestries. “Salvador Dali: The Pierre Argillet,” runs from 22 March for three weeks.
