AN ILLUSTRIOUS COLLECTION
New art gallery from China hits Singapore
Yunlore Arts Gallery, part of Yunlore Arts international, is a newly inaugurated art gallery housed within the prestigious Raffles Hotel Arcade. With outlets hitherto in Beijing, Chengdu and Shanghai—this is Yunlore Arts’ first Singapore venture.
Established since June 2013, the gallery’s main focus is on presenting and promoting traditional fine art on the global stage. Any visitor to the gallery will be enthralled by its prized antiques, contemporary and traditional Chinese ink painting—known as Guo Hua—ancient crafted jade pieces, calligraphic works from recognized and up-and-coming artists from China—as well as 20th-century memorabilia. All are sourced by hand from Asia and each piece commands its own history, tradition and inimitable beauty.
Highlights of the Yunlore collection include calligraphy by Qing Emperor Kang Xi—on paper infused with gold—and an ink painting by second generation disciple, Liu Daozi, of the Master Zhang Daqian from China. Yunlore has curated a small collection of Oriental memorabilia from Japan, as well as coveted Chinese ink paintings, calligraphic scrolls and antiques.
Yunlore Arts Gallery is also a rather nifty event space capable of catering for elite private occasions in a sophisticated setting. Guests of the gallery will be indulged by a steady flow of selected artworks that promises a continuous capriciously curated showcase—one that will thoroughly engage them.
