DOUBLE THE FUN
SINGAPORE’S AFFORDABLE ART FAIR was so successful that they’ve launched another! JOIN THEM IN MAY 2014
That’s right! Singapore’s Affordable Art Fair will now be a biannual event. And it should be no surprise as 17,800 visitors poured through the doors of its 2013 event. But its concept is simple—it offers an inspiring and friendly atmosphere where you can find thousands of original paintings, prints, sculpture and photography under one roof—and more importantly, prices start at just $100 and 75 per cent of the work for sale is under $7,500.
The art fair, which was launched by Will Ramsay in London in 1999, has stuck firm to its philosophy. Will’s aim was to make contemporary art accessible to everyone and to show that you don’t need to be an art expect or a millionaire to enjoy or buy art. Since then the Affordable Art Fair has become the leading art fair for contemporary art, with 15 fairs taking place in cities as far as way as London, Hong Kong, New York and Mexico City. And it has also been listed as one of the top 100 CoolBrands in the UK, which also includes such über cool names as Apple, Alexander McQueen and Tate.
The art fair is determined to create a new generation of art collectors. Approximately 30 per cent of visitors to the show have never bought an original work of art before. The Affordable Art Fair team does everything it can to make sure that the buying process is as easy as possible for visitors. All artworks come with a price label, so you can see straightaway what suits your budget. And so you can take away your newly required artworks on the day, they offer free, professional wrapping.
Whether you are a young professional looking for your first piece of art, a seasoned collector ready to spot the next big thing or a family looking for a fun day out, the Singapore Affordable Art Fair won’t disappoint.
