How often should you spring clean your makeup collection?

Anywhere between three and six months. Anything liquid or creamy that’s frequently exposed to air has a shorter shelf life. Some examples are mascaras, , liquid eyeliners and cream pot shadows. You may not realise it, but bacteria starts to grow on it from firstt use so throw them away after a maximum of six months s or if they start to smell bad.

How should you care for your makeup brushes?

Always store them in a clean place, like in a sturdy cup instead tead of having them roll around on dirty surfaces. I usually advise e washing your personal brushes after 10 uses, or once every one to two weeks—try Mac Cosmetics’ Brush Cleanser, as it thoroughly cleanses and sanitises. My personal trick to removing gunk like old foundation and lipstick off brushes is to use an oil-based makeup remover like Boscia Makeup-Breakup Cool Cleansing Oil to dissolve the residue before soaping the brush up. Then I use Sigma Spa’s Brush Cleansing Glove. It protects my skin while providing a nubby surface to gently scrub the brushes.

What should we throw out from lastast season, and what are some new colours we should have this year?

Throw out anything glittery, and frosty lip colours. Replace with tinted ed moisturisers or CC Creams for luminous skin or black eyeliner in different textures for defined and inky ky eyes. Go purple on the eyes as well—try —try on violets,violets lilacs and plums and decide which is best for your skin tone. For impact lips, try opaque orange and red lipsticks.
