For his sophomore staging at Saint Laurent, Anthony Va cc ar el lo returned to the brand’ s still-under-construction headquarters at Rue de Bellechasse where, six months ago, he flipped the page to a new chapter. Vaccarello built upon what he had established for his debut—a cool sexiness that appeals to a new crop of millennials fed on a digital diet.The first half of Vaccarello’s Act II consisted of leather day dresses brimming with a raw primal energy. Ditto the leather jackets and the sculptural glove that came lined with shearling. Vaccarello shifted gears for the second half by dialling up the glam factor with sleek evening numbers in plush velvet—all glittering and shimmering from the many rhinestones that cascaded down ruffled sleeves or dramatic shoulders.
