Editor-in-Chief Kenneth Goh takes a homespun view of the latest spring/summer 2018 collections

This season, it seems fashion has decided to look inwards—specifically, to the living room; paying homage to brocade, chintz, windowpanes, and all things homely. I constantly find inspiration in Miuccia Prada’s collections, and this look from Miu Miu’s spr ing/summer collection (7) is one part ’50s housewife; one part kooky art student. A long-time advocate of “ugly chic”, Mrs Prada has yet again mixed pr ints in an unexpected, yet br illiant, manner. Easier to pull off, though no less thought-provoking, is the multi-coloured checked pinafore dress from Shr imps (12), worn with a smocked-cuff shirt from Altuzarra. Complete the look with a geometric print bum bag from Tory Burch (10). Or, br ing your art out onto the street by slipping on this skirt from Coach 1941 x Keith Haring (2), which contrasts the late artist’s signature graffiti-like squiggles against lace for a match made in Pop Art heaven. If the idea of dressing like Betty-Crocker-meets-CindySher man is still too out there for you, consider this pair of chic slingbacks from Dior (3) that’s Mod and au courant all at once. ■
