Omega’s new De Ville Trèsor Ladies’ collection melds easy elegance with effortless modernity for watches with unparalleled versatility
Gazing straight into the camera, Kaia Gerber’s Gerber r’s eyes seem to pin you down from within in her monochrome frame, exper per tly captured by renowned fashion shion photographer and master of light, Peter Lindbergh. She’s a pic tureperfect paradigm of ease and assurance ssurancce in her oversized pantsuit; exuding ing a qu quiet uiet confidence that dares you to take her he er as she is—sentiments that are equally ually ec echoed choed and accentuated by the watch h she wears: we ears: A De Ville Trésor Ladies timepiece e belonging belon ging to Omega’s latest family line. “I’m “I’m really real drawn to classic style and for r me the Trésor has that vintage look, b but with a cool, very modern twist. It’s a beautiful bea watch to look at and I love wearing it,” says the 17-yearold model, whose debut on the runw runways during spring/summer 2 2017 sa saw her rising to stratospheric he heights; ights; w with luxury houses eager to align n thems themselves to her branding. Yet, as Omeg Omega ga announced anno last September, Kaia’s wrists aare are off limits to anyone but Omega, thanks tto to a dea deal that saw her becoming an official brand b a ambassador, along with her brother, Presley Gerber.
And why not? The Gerbers have as much modelling pedigree as they do a horological one. After all, the siblings’ mother, Cindy Crawford, has been an Omega brand ambassador for the past 23 years and, as Kaia readily shares: “I love Omega, just because I grew up with it and I feel like I’ve always been surrounded by everyone there. We’ve been a family from since I can remember.” So when it comes to watches, Kaia clearly knows what she’s talking about. REFINED VERSATILITY One look at the De Ville Trésor and it’s easy to see why it would be a Gerber favourite (or any woman’s, for that matter). The round-faced watch presents pared down looks that have been stripped of all extraneous details. The focus, instead, has been to accentuate and refine it s ver y essence with painstaking care, from the transferred and embossed Roman numerals that accompany the watch’s slim, polished hands, to the gleaming crown decorated with a highly stylised diamond-studded flower (comprising five Omega lo g o s) in red, liquid ceramic. Fur ther evidence that Omega has pulled out all the stops for its latest star can be found on the watch’s mirrored caseback, which has been engraved with a captivating “Her Time” spirograph design of mathematical precision. With this watch, it’s clearly the details that matter, resulting in a timeless design that is proposed with a thoroughly modern at titude. Easy elegance is balanced with calculated refinement, luxurious touches with a minimalist tenet… It’s the masterful juxtaposition of beautiful contradictions into a unifying whole. The new Trésor is not a watch that shines with flamboyance. Instead, it’s a watch that was designed to accentuate the individual and unique style of its wearer, thoughtfully and conscientiously through a ultra-slim design that wears like a second skin. A high-precision quartz movement (calibre 4061) powers each of the nine designs in the collection, which come in either stainless steel or Omega’s beguiling Sedna™ gold. Diamonds add a touch of everyday glamour, while satin or leather straps and several dial colourways ensure women find a piece that suits their style temperament to a tee. And in true Omega g form, , there are also two sizes to choose from—39mm and 36mm—just so you have a watch that provides vides as accurate a time as it does s a comfort fit. Understated, modern and stylishly versatile, the new w De Ville Trésor Ladies’ ies’ collection is a fitting ng continuation of the Omega legacy acy that sees it offering ring everything that a woman wants in a watch—and more.
