New York’s movers and shakers descended on Cartier’s Fifth Avenue mansion to witness the unveiling of its Precious Garage concept, an installation by multihyphenate Desi Santiago.The visual artist transformed the three-storey boutique into a mechanic’s dream workroom. Besides a sleek wire-framed convertible welcoming guests on the ground floor, there were also walls of oil cans and automobile parts to drive home the theme.The likes of Lily Collins, Zoe Saldana and Armie Hammer ramped up the celebrity wattage at the event (as did Swedish singer Lykke Li, who put up a fantastic performance), but the true stars of the evening were the new introductions to Cartier’s signature Juste un Clou and Écrou de Cartier collections.
