JUN JI
Whether she’s steppi ng out in a voluminous baby-doll dress or brightlycoloured coat f illed with Japanese manga-inspired motifs, nothing fazes this st yle chameleon who favours designs by Comme des Garçons’ Rei Kawakubo and the works of Phoebe Philo, Céline’s erstwhile Creative Director. “I’m either full-on in prints or minimalist mode. I’m dressed either tomboyish or very girly. My friends ask on a daily basis, ‘ Who are you today?’”Jun explains of the extremes that have come to define her look. “I remember my mother bringing me to the mall when I was young. Since then, I’ve always wanted clothes more than toys,” she says, so it is only natural Jun wound up working as a fashion buyer. She’s attuned to the trends dominating the runways, but Jun thinks that carving one’s signature look should come from a personal place of wanting to see, speak and learn more.
