For one night only, Capitol Theatre was transformed into a theatre of dreams. Over 300 fashion and beauty insiders watched as eight contestants from Singapore, India, Indonesia and Thailand vied for the grand prize of regional winner of the Harper’s BAZAAR Asia NewGen Fashion Award 2018, held in collaboration with Swarovski, and supported by Zalora. In the end, Andrew Low’s utilitarian-meets-tailoring designs won him the coveted title, along with a cash prize of $10,000 and a year-long scholarship at Istituto Marangoni. As models strutted down the runway during the nail-biting finale, guests were treated to a performance by none other than RuPaul’s Drag Race superstar, Detox, as she sang her hit, “She’s Gotta Habit” to kick off the after-party. DJ Ginette Chittick then took over the decks for the BAZAAR Discotheque, as the runway transformed into a dance floor for a night of merry-making and more.
