What’s your go-to accessory?

I wear a lot of scarves. I think it’s an essential accessory—I never leave home without one. You can dress it up, dress it down, use it for anything. It just gives you that final touch. I can be running around like a mad woman, but I can throw on a scarf and look put together. I also always carry a bag. My favourites are my Tom Ford saddle bag and my Philip Treacy Marilyn Monroe bag.

What’s your guiding philosophy in fashion?

For busy people, you really need to be comfortable. And because you don’t have much time, you want accessories that are easy, look good, great to mix and match. Most importantly, don’t be mutton dressed as lamb. If you can carry off certain things, by all means, do it. To each her own.

How would you describe your style?

I’m pretty simple, in the sense that I don’t wear really fussy clothes. I like layering. I love vintage because it’s unique, it’s one of a kind. I’m not a follower—I don’t like to copy and wear what other people are wearing. I do love quality, which is why I work in luxury. But luxury doesn’t mean it has to be expensive—it could just be something that is well made, special or meaningful. I wear pieces from high street—why not? It’s all about that personal touch; how you put it together. That’s why accessories are so important. A fabulous bangle, a beautiful watch, a scarf in your hair—they make all the difference.
