Louis Vuitton has released its first portable speaker and it is as much an objet d’art as it is a tech device. The Horizon Light Up Speaker’s unusual shape was inspired by the Toupie bag designed by Nicolas Ghesquière, which in turn was inspired by a spinning top. In addition to elevating a utilitarian item, the bold design serves an acoustic purpose, allowing for a 360-degree sound projection when upright and directional sound when placed on its side.
