Cartier’s newest additions to its Clash de Cartier collection may prove to be its most popular yet—and it’s not just for the introduction of onyx beads and Tahitian pearls into the sleek urbane mix. Instead, what the latest designs do is embody to the utmost the collection’s philosophy of contradictions and turning convention on its head. The bangle and ring, for example, feature gleaming onyx spheres on their inner side so that the baubles seem to magically float above the skin— resulting in edgy, attitude looks that any style rebel can get behind.
