Kim Jones and Chitose Abe are long-time friends, though the two have never worked together in an official capacity. That changes this season as the Dior Men and Sacai designers come together for a capsule collection for the French maison that marries both their aesthetics—Jones’s easy elegance a natural foil for Abe’s utilitarian, hybrid approach to design. Some of the standout results include Sacai’s signature sportswear and workwear elements effortlessly incorporated into Jones’s lexicon of relaxed tailoring; Japanese denim used on couture silhouettes; and utilitarian drawstrings and pockets adorning the iconic Dior Saddle bags.
