by husband-and-wife team Guy and Leeanne Hundleby, Scottish luxury leather goods specialist Strathberry prides itself on chic bags that are functional in shape, timeless in looks and accessible in price. Each sleek creation is lovingly worked on by artisans in Spain using only the country’s finest leathers and finishes, and takes a minimum of 20 hours to craft by hand.

The exceptional quality and minimalist designs clearly resonate with the market at large; its fan base spans from the everyday woman with an eye for style to celebs both local and international—just to name a few, Singaporean actresses Carrie Wong and Fang Rong as well as socialite and online personality Jamie Chua; and global stars Lady Gaga, Heidi Klum and Katie Holmes. Strathberry has even won the stamp of approval from a royal: Meghan Markle, who marked a series of firsts with the brand’s bags—stepping out with a tri-colour Midi Tote on her first official royal engagement with Harry, Duke of Sussex; an East/West Mini in Bottle Green on the couple’s first official joint appearance in Scotland; and a tan Midi Tote on her first international tour as a member of the British royal family.

Strathberry’s Crescent collection, in particular, pleases with its reimagined Strathberry Bar, which is functional as much as decorative. A brand signature, the metal hardware, inspired by the music folios the Hundlebys picked up while researching their brand, features in every Strathberry design—be it as a straight bar closure (as on the Tote, the East/West, the East/West Stylist and the Allegro) or a horseshoe-shaped fastening for the strap (as on the Lana bucket bags). For the Crescent range, this iconic element takes a modern turn as an elegant golden arc that securely closes the bag while lending subtle flair to the three models: The Box Crescent, the Crescent Shoulder and the Mini Crescent, all of which can be slung on the shoulder or across the body.

The smallest of the lot at 23cm long and 11cm tall, the Mini Crescent is compact enough to comfortably hold (its accompanying leather and chain straps can be removed to turn it into a clutch) but large enough to fit all your essentials—hand sanitiser and extra masks included. Crafted from 100 percent calf leather, it has an interior pocket and a magnetic closure, and is fully lined in a soft microfibre that reduces potential scratches to any precious item it houses. It comes in six colourways—Vanilla-Diamond (white-cream); Navy-Burgundy-Vanilla; Tan-Burgundy-Forest; Black; Bottle Green; and Burgundy—as well as special seasonal hues.

Embodying the brand’s core principles of longevity, practicality and beauty, each Strathberry design demonstrates that there is elegance in simplicity. Fashion fades but style is eternal—and in Strathberry, you’ll find arm candy that will keep you in style no matter the trends.
