After 15 years of dressing women in romantic designs, the Erdem universe is finally expanding with the launch of the brand’s first menswear collection this season. In this new era of masculine tenderness, the codes that the eponymous founder has established as the bedrock of his design language seem particularly resonant—his menswear is imbued with the same soft, poetic sensibility as his womenswear. There are trench coats and boilersuits in floral jacquard; shirts with billowing sleeves and ties; jackets shrunken ever so slightly; and trousers boxy in shape but soft in fabrication and rich in colour.
