DOLCE&GABBANA

-

The namesake duo brings us back to the nightclub to relive the glory days of their brand in the late 1990s and early 2000s. We have to give them this: Dolce&Gabbana was the progenitor of the Y2K trend that has been sweeping fashion—and every imaginable detail from that era is stuffed into this collection: crystal mesh dresses, tops, skirts, chokers and belts; thong trousers; lace-up corsets; lingerie-as-outerwear; cutouts; slashed denim boots; micro skirts; clashes of camo prints; and oversize logo-buckle belts. As though all that isn’t enough, there are looks borrowed brazenly from completely different eras and mashed together, such as insanely sparkly flapper dresses, Byzantine-style bejewelled cardigans, and cropped jackets with leg of mutton sleeves so large they look like butterflies.
