The season’s hottest shoes put new twists on well-loved classics, whether they fall on the dapper or casual end of the footwear spectrum. At Dior Men, Kim Jones refreshed the B29 sneaker using rubber and reflective canvas alongside the usual leather and suede—further upping the shoe’s nostalgic appeal. At Balenciaga, Demna continued his collaboration with Crocs; the new Balenciaga Pool Crocs sees the signature clogs transformed into chunky pool slides. There’s also the classic Converse Chuck 70 sneakers, which got new bright red midsoles courtesy of PLAY Comme des Garçons. Virgil Abloh’s last show for Off-White featured a collaboration with Church’s. Abloh reinterpreted the British footwear brand’s signature Burwood brogue in black brushed calfskin instead of brown suede, and added an Off-White hangtag as well as the words “Special Events” in his signature quote marks screen-printed on the side.
