GARDEN VARIETY
Christian Dior’s passion for gardening is well-known—a love the designer cultivated from his childhood in Granville, at the family home by the sea. This season, Kim Jones pays tribute to that passion with a Dior Men collection that takes gardening as its starting point, resulting in functional, easy-to-wear pieces awash in the gentle hues of nature. It also led to a collaboration with Birkenstock. Jones reinvented two of the German brand’s most classic footwear— the Milano outdoor sandal and the Tokio protective walking shoe—in felt or suede, rendered in both seasonal hues and signature Dior Gray. The highlight of the collaboration is a special version of the Tokio model, hand-embroidered with delicate sprays of flowers.
