WHAT A BRUSH

-

Working with oil paints on Korean paper to create hyper-realistic works of art, Korean artist Lee Jung Woong is famed for his “Brush” series of larger-than-life paintings that feature an Oriental brush in the midst of Pollock-esque ink splotches. The works are visual paradoxes that convey a sense of energy and movement in the midst of tranquil stillness, making it small wonder that they’re much sought after at Sotheby’s and Christies auctions. To experience them first-hand, head to art gallery Ode to Art where “Control in Spontaneity”, his solo exhibition of 15 new works that are a part of his Brush – Blue series, will run till 7 October.
