ONLY HUMAN

-

Making headlines for his NFT collage Everydays: TheFirst500Days, which was sold by Christie’s for a record-breaking US$69 million last year, digital artist Beeple is fêted as one of the most expensive living artists today. Catch the exhibition of his hybrid digital and physical artwork, a generative digital sculpture titled HUMANONE, which makes its Asian premiere at the M+ museum in Hong Kong from 9 December to 30 April 2023.

It depicts a helmeted traveller, within a sevenfoot-tall box-like structure made of four LED screens, trekking through an endlessly shifting virtual landscape that is designed to evolve over time as the artist uploads new images that reflect his responses to the state of the world— it’s fascinating both as an artwork and as a metaphor for human progress.
