A touch of Brillance

Pomellato’s Nudo Solitaire collection adds sparkle to the festive season

-

Traditionally characterised as jewellery that showcase a single diamond, solitaires have long remained a firm favourite with women for their timeless elegance and versatility beauty. If, however, you are looking for one that promises the same appeal but with a stylish twist, then Pomellato has just the designs for you. The Italian jewellery house gave its own inimitable spin to solitaire jewellery when it debuted its Nudo collection in 2001. Bearing a coloured, irregular-shaped gemstone that sits within a band of metal to hold it in place, the collection soon won women over for its distinctive looks and vibrant allure. This year, however, sees the jeweller bringing the focus back to diamonds—but in a true Pomellato manner. The Nudo Solitaire collection (comprising rings, bracelets, a pendant necklace and earrings) employs a diamond-set design that mimics the iconic silhouette of its brethren. The top of the Nudo Solitaire ring, for example, is set with diamonds in a shape that is reminiscent of the Nudo’s cut—so exclusive that it is copyright-protected—while a glittering pavé of smaller diamonds wrap around the bezel, catching the light with every subtle movement. The rings come in two sizes: The Classic size is a great statement piece with a brilliant diamond pavé detail that tapers down the upper shank of the ring, while the Petit is perfect as a pinky ring or a stacking option. The Nudo Solitaire bracelet is a rigid, open bangle tipped with softly rounded squares, set with diamonds on the top and white topaz on the underside—lending a touch of discreet opulence and volume. Rounding off the collection is a Nudo Solitaire rose gold necklace with a diamond pendant, which can be layered with other necklaces as well. A matching pair of Nudo Solitaire rose gold and diamond earrings add the perfect finishing touch. True to the Italian jeweller’s ethos of creating prêt-à-porter jewellery, the Nudo Solitaire collection—available in rose gold and brown diamonds; or white gold and white diamonds—is versatile enough for any occasion. And if you own other Nudo pieces, the clean lines of these beauties pair ef for tlessly with them, fitting seamlessly into your wardrobe, whether worn with a suit or a cocktail dress. Good looks aside, the best thing about these gems is that the individual components of this collection have all been responsibly sourced. The diamonds come from Responsible Jewellery Council-certified suppliers, while all the gold used is Responsible Gold that has been held to rigorous standards of sustainability and traceability. Just so there’s no need for any guilt surrounding your gilt-y pleasures.
