IN THE PINK OF LOVE

HerWorld Brides LUXE (Singapore) - - Portraits - TEXT STEVE THIO

Jeannie wanted simple and beautiful pictures to reflect her relationship with Chen Thai, and both their personalities. Wedding planners The Wedding Entourage helped make her dream portraits a reality by creating a luxe setting filled with pretty props and hundreds of fresh blooms!

The pre-wedding shoot for Jeannie and Chen Thai was more than just an item to tick off their to-do list. They really wanted an album of pictures that would encapsulate who they are as a couple and showcase their preferences. “We wanted the shoot to show some elements of who we are and what we like,” said Jeannie.

This well-travelled Malaysian couple chose to do their shoot in Singapore as they “absolutely adore Singapore. Apart from living in Kuala Lumpur and Melbourne, we spend most of our time in Singapore too, where it feels like home away from home”. To get their project off the ground, the couple roped in top local wedding planners The Wedding Entourage to help them translate all their requirements into a beautiful and cohesive shoot.

After discussions with the couple, Caroline Yakop-Lim, principal planner of The Wedding Entourage, knew that they needed more than just pretty pictures: “They wanted something glamorous, romantic and classy – pictures that would show their personality through the different details in the shoot, like Jeannie’s love for fries, doughnuts, sweet desserts, and f lowers. As well as their mutual love of Coke!”

The entire project took her team close to six months to realise – from conceptualising the different scenes and props for the shoot, to sourcing the perfect bridal wardrobe and finding the right venue. Caroline also had to recruit the best and most suitable creative talents for the project – from the photographer to the hairstylist and makeup artist. The end result was a gorgeous setting filled with lush f lorals. There was also a pretty sofa draped with soft pink velvet, and a full dessert table setting featuring the couples’ favourite food.

The entire shoot took around six hours, and at the end of it, Jeannie said: “It was the perfect set-up with a dream crew. Everyone and everything was amazing and incredibly fun. It was filled with so many funny moments and positive vibes. We had the best team I could ever have asked for!”

“The backdrop was created just for this shoot to match their customised oriental outfits.

The couple wanted to pay tribute to their

Chinese roots with this scene.”
