QUENCH PARCHED SKIN... AND RELAX
A new cleansing and moisturising duo soothes skin with lotus and lily of the valley, and smells so comforting. By LIEU WEI NING
If you have dehydrated skin, it could be because your skin is naturally dry, and even chapped and smarting in extreme cases. Or, it could be that you have a greasy complexion – the result of skin producing too much sebum and oil, overcompensating for the lack of moisture.
Whatever the reason, keeping skin well-hydrated is important. And this is where moisturising skincare comes into play. Cue the latest additions to French skincare brand Kenzoki’s hydrating range. The Gentle Cleansing Lotus Mousse and the Moisturizing Skin Guardian are both enriched with the antioxidant-rich white lotus essence, which supposedly soothes skin and protects it from external stressors.
The Gentle Cleansing Lotus Mousse is also loaded with camelina oil to soothe and protect skin. When I massaged the rich, fluff y mousse onto damp skin, I experienced a slight cooling sensation. It didn’t make my skin feel overly cleansed and tight, so it’s suitable for twice-daily use.
After toning, I used the Moisturizing Skin Guardian day cream. Not only does the cream contain Japanese lily of the valley to provide skin with continuous hydration, it also has millet plant extracts to shield skin from free radical damage, stress and external aggressors such as pollution and harsh weather conditions.
The lightweight cream absorbed quickly into skin without leaving any greasy residue. After one use, my skin appeared to have reaped the hydrating benefits of the cream. The flaky patches near my laugh lines were no longer visible and my makeup went on more smoothly. I used th the cream for two weeks without experiencing breakouts. My skin also appeared a more luminous.
Bonus: Both the cleanser and the cream boast the relaxing, powdery scent of white lotus, making them some of the best-smelling products around.
