GORDON RAMSAY IN SINGAPORE
It was all anyone could talk about for days – the foul- mouthed British chef squaring off with local hawkers to whip up our most iconic dishes (chicken rice, chilli crab and laksa) at the Singtel Hawker Heroes Challenge. But all the excitement of the culinary face- off (which Gordon lost by a narrow 1-2 margin) aside, it was the collective patriotism it inspired in Singaporeans and Gordon’s gracious attitude (" What I'm taking home is a conrmation of how good hawker food is.”) that made this event so memorable.
