Lewd gestures, vulgarities and almost coming to blows – readers tell GERMAINE TAN their worst encounters on the road.
"A car hit the rear bumper of my car at a trafc light junction. I got out to check on the damage and so did the other driver. She yelled at me, saying it was my fault and calling me a 'stupid driver'. I was appalled by her behaviour and embarrassed because passers-by were staring. Flash the headlights or sound the horn excessively. 3. Cut into another driver’s lane without signalling. 4. Flash a rude gesture at other drivers. 5. Shout insults or threaten another driver. 6. Challenge another driver or get into a confrontation. If you do any of these, you can be charged with driving without due care and attention or reasonable consideration, and jailed for up to six months or ned up to $1,000, or both. If it escalates into a physical attack, you could be charged with voluntarily causing hurt, and jailed for up to two years or ned up to $5,000, or both.
