FROM RUNWAY TO BEAUTY COUNTER
These designer fashion brand’s perfume ranges are now available here. We ask fans of the labels for their takes on the scents.
Three designer brands launch their perfumes here… nally.
MARNI
Marni Rose EDP, $225. This is the brand’s second fragrance after its eponymous debut launched last year (not available here). Expect a mix of mint, raspberry, cardamom and – like its name suggests – Bulgarian rose. We love the ultra- cute bottle with quirky polka dots.
ONE FAN’S TAKE ON THE FRAGRANCE
“The packaging is so characteristic of the brand, which is known for its fun prints. Although the fragrance is a rose scent, it smells slightly spicy and is light enough for our hot weather.” – Penny Seow, associate art director
TORY BURCH Tory Burch EDP, $175.
The 47-year- old American fashion designer’s rst fragrance is a citrusy oral with notes of peony, grapefruit and Mandarin orange.
ONE FAN’S TAKE ON THE FRAGRANCE
“The scent definitely complements her fashion line, as it’s wearable and feminine. I like how the sharp citrus notes and sweet orals are pared down with earthy vetiver.” – Lieu Wei Ning, beauty writer
MICHAEL KORS
Michael Kors Sexy Amber EDP, $158. Sexy, sporty and glamorous are words that best describe the Michael Kors fashion line. Now, the brand has released a trio of perfumes – Sexy Amber, Sporty Citrus and Glam Jasmine – to complement it. We had a hard time choosing a favourite, but we all agreed that Sexy Amber was our go-to perfume for romantic dates. The brand is also launching a cosmetics line with three ranges called – you guessed it – Sexy, Sporty and Glam. Each consists of a bronzer, lip gloss, lipstick and nail polish. We love Sporty Lip Lacquer in Diva ($40), a peachy-nude, and Glam Nail Lacquer in Envy ($26, right).
ONE FAN’S TAKE ON THE FRAGRANCE
“I love Sexy Amber. It’s warm and sensual with notes of white owers and sandalwood. I’d pair this with a croppedsweater-and-miniskirt combo from the Michael Kors Spring/Summer 2014 collection.”
