When the skin ages, the supercial muscular aponeurotic system (SMAS), a layer of connective tissue in the face, starts to weaken and get lax. Eventually, this results in the loosening of the skin and the development of wrinkles.

Quick xes such as botox injections and dermal llers can plump the face in a jiffy, but for those who prefer something non-invasive, there’s the HIFU AgeTite treatment (from $480 for a double chin treatment) at Bio Aesthetic Laser Clinic. Promising an immediate lifting effect that is reportedly on a par with that of a facelift, this treatment supposedly shrinks the SMAS layer to give you tauter skin and a slimmer, more dened V-shape face.

SAFE, NON-INVASIVE AND EFFECTIVE

HIFU AgeTite utilises high-intensity, focused ultrasound energy to help your skin ght the ravages of time. A handheld device delivers low levels of ultrasound energy into the deeper layers of the skin to reportedly trigger the body’s natural healing process, stimulating the production and reconstruction of collagen and elastin bres for rmer, suppler skin.

While you may experience some warmth and a tingling sensation during the treatment, as well as some stiffness in the face for up to 48 hours after, HIFU AgeTite is purportedly considerably less painful than other ultrasound treatments.

Its effects are said to be visible immediately after, with the mid-face, jowls and jawline becoming more dened, and droopy eyelids, dark eye circles and fat pockets under the eyes becoming less apparent. Firming and tightening effects are said to be most evident two months post-treatment, and results can reportedly last four to six months. Dr Ariffin (Fin) Ziaudeen, who obtained his medical degree from the Dublin-based Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland, believes in nonpermanent solutions in aesthetic medicine that give patients a naturally youthfullooking visage. He is fully accredited in procedures such as botox, llers, chemical peels, and light and laser therapies.
