Change Is Good. Big Changes Are Even Better.

- – JE, creative editor

For HW’s recent (or new) readers, a masthead change may be a shocker. But we doubt it will be – since we are living in the Facebook, social media, Trump-is-in-the-house, and Kim Jong Un era.

For our long-time followers, a new masthead is not unusual, or unexpected. It’s actually business as usual: We have changed it seven times in our 57-year history. We had two mastheads (the fourth and seventh) that were relatively short-lived; each lasted two years. We also had one (the sixth) for 17 years. This one in your hands is the eighth incarnation.

Changing a masthead doesn’t mean we have modified our DNA or mission statement; it just means we have a new look (no one, and no brand, is immune to that).

Are we still the same useful, inspiring and empowering read? Do we still champion women of all ages and kinds as we did before “feminist” became a fashionable slogan? Do we like our Zaras as much as our Celines?

The answers are yes, yes, and yes. Are we still good at what we do? No – we are doing it even better.

Women’s favourite topics – fashion, beauty and lifestyle – are still the backbone of Her World. What we’ve done away with: the formulaic nature of women’s lifestyle magazines (if you read enough of them, you will know what we mean). In its place: a more modern, positive and inclusive reflection of how we live now to bring usefulness, inspiration and empowerment to you.

It’s a brave new world, and we are going with it. Do join us.
