For good skin, you need hydration and nutrients like minerals and antioxidants. For great skin, you need all that pumped into it all through the day.

Why moisturise only twice a day when you can saturate skin with hydration throughout the day?

How do you give your skin a constant supply of what it needs? You spritz on a skincare mist every one or two hours. The theory: Why limit your skin to getting the good stuff only twice a day when you apply moisturiser, if you can top it up regularly instead? It’s the skin equivalent of eating small meals throughout the day to keep your energy levels up.

Says Lily Kew, founder of home-grown organic beauty brand Kew Organics: “Mists are inbetween a serum and an essence, with ingredients like hyaluronic acid to plump skin, and aminorich and reparative extracts to strengthen collagen and elastin.”

Sophia Chan, cofounder of Maiko, the exclusive distributor of Australian skincare brand Canvas, says mists protect skin from the drying effects of outdoor heat and air-conditioned rooms. “They also give your skin that dewy look,” she adds.

On top of that, the molecules in a mist are so tiny that you can use the product over makeup, to set it and make it last longer, says Kew.
