Technology has made long-distance relationships easier, but also much more obsessive, because of the speed at which we can contact our faraway loves. Honestly, a long-distance relationship is tough because it breeds insecurity, which breeds obsession. If you’re going to make it through this period of being physically apart, remember the old saying that “absence makes the heart grow fonder”, and that incessant texting and video calling makes the “heart want to get drunk at a bar and chat up the locals”. (That last quote could be Faulkner, but I really can’t be certain.)
