New Store: A Vintage Tale
It began in 2015 as a Milan-based online store started by Italian Azzurra La Mantia, 35, as the place for vintage clothes and accessories from the ’50s to the ’90s. When she moved to Singapore in January 2018, she met fellow vintage lover Jasmine De Brauwer, 42, the Belgian founder of Jazzystar Vintage, at a Sunday flea market. The two new friends joined forces to bring A Vintage Tale offline. They opened its brick-and-mortar at 277 Joo Chiat Road in July, on the second floor of a shophouse (#02-01). Its expanded range includes evening and cocktail dresses, and hats and bags from brands like Roberta di Camerino, Gucci, Moschino, and Dior. Designed to look like an eclectic woman’s home, the store is mostly decorated with locallysourced vintage furniture – which is not for sale.
