Beauty Editor’s Faves
The best skincare and makeup drops that got us excited. Now, go buy. By Penelope Chan
1. Clarins Gentle Renewing Cleansing Mousse, $54
One of the most skincomforting cleansers I’ve come across. The foam removes dirt, makeup and pollution, and gently exfoliates with tamarind pulp extract, an AHA. It’s soap-and SLS-free; instead, it uses organic saponaria extract, a naturally lathering plant. Skin feels clean and so soft; I love the uplifting scent too.
2. Sunsilk Collagen Filler Super Conditioner, $7.90
From daily handling to chemical treatments, your hair really takes a beating. This conditioner repairs, rebuilds and hydrates hair using collagen. It comes in Power Shine or Damage Rescue – both are free of parabens, colourants and alcohol. Use it daily or as a hair treatment.
3. Estee Lauder Perfectionist Pro Rapid Brightening Treatment Ferment2 + Vitamin C, $135 for 30ml, $190 for 50ml
The brightening serum reduces the look of dark spots and acne marks, leaving your skin luminous and even-toned. It controls melanin overproduction before it can cluster into spots, and also softens the look of existing spots, while protecting skin against environmental damage.
4. Chanel
Les 4 Ombres in #374 Allure et Eclat, limited edition, $98
Eyeshadow palettes, with their colours and finishes, can be intimidating. But I am in love with this pearl-inspired one (the copper-aubergine is my current fave). The colours go on sheer and pretty, and are mistake-proof. For a full look, layer the shades from darkest to lightest on the eyelids.
5. Tom Ford Beauty Shade and Illuminate Soft Radiance Foundation SPF50/ PA++++, $200
The liquid foundation gives medium-tofull coverage, while nourishing and protecting skin with hyaluronic acid, noni fruit extract and natural oils. It creates a radiant surface that softly reflects light, so skin looks flawless and dewy.
6. Glow Recipe Plum Plump Hyaluronic Serum, $64
My dehydrated skin just glows when I use it – and so should yours. The plum-based (three types, all vit C-rich) formula also contains hyaluronic acid to lock in moisture. It’s so lightweight that it’s easy to layer on other skincare after. My fave way to use it is as a mid-afternoon hydration boost. At sephora.sg
7. Re:erth Rejuvenating Hand Treatment, $60
If you dread using a hand sanitiser because it makes your hands dry and rough, you’re not alone. Re:erth’s first bodycare product deeply moisturises and contains nanoencapsulated retinol to restore skin elasticity – so sanitise away. At Tangs at Tang Plaza and www.reerth.com
