HW ENDORSES

Clinique’s hydrator for 100 hours of plump skin.

- – RUTH CHEW

The war against skin dehydration is real and ongoing. Fortunately, there’s Clinique’s new Moisture Surge 100H Auto-Replenishing Hydrator ($47 for 30ml; $77 for 50ml), which promises to keep your skin hydrated for up to 100 hours – even if you cleanse your face.

The process starts when the ingredients

– a trio of responsibly sourced organic aloe extract powder, lactobacillus and activated aloe water – get absorbed into the skin and transform into an aloe vera bio ferment. This is what increases the skin’s ability to retain moisture, keeping it hydrated as time passes.

Like its predecessor, the creamy 72H, this oil-free, 100H gel edition has hyaluronic acid, which can hold up to 1,000 times its weight in water. This time, though, the ingredient has molecules of varying weight, going 10 layers into the skin.

The formula also uses caffeine and activated aloe water, which work in tandem to create a “moisture reservoir” your skin can call on any time it needs hydration.

The hydrator melts easily into skin and leaves no sticky or tacky after-feel. We found that it holds its own for a full day (and through the night) in air-conditioning.

In a week, you should see plumper and smoother skin. Used on its own, over your serum, or as a five-minute mask, this hydrator puts in overtime to give you bouncy, supple skin.

You will still need your anti-ageing products for wrinkles, but the 100H works on dry, crepe-y skin that’s thirsty for some TLC.
