DOLCE & GABBANA BEAUTY’S FIRST SG STORE
The fashion brand brings its makeup to Singapore, all of which contain a specially created star ingredient that gives skin a beautiful glow.
Dolce & Gabbana, one of Italy’s most successful exports, has revived its beauty line, Dolce & Gabbana Beauty, with a flagship boutique at Ion Orchard.
When the brand first introduced its makeup in 2011, I remember stocking up on the cream foundation and moisturising, highshine lipstick every time I travelled to Milan, Italy. A limited range was launched in Singapore, in 2017.
That’s no longer the case. The brand’s full makeup collection is now available, including basics like foundation and powder, and its signature lipstick, The Only One Luminous Colour ($69), now with caps ($19 each) in four designs.
The packaging is luxe – heavy jars and polished gold, with handpainted designs, damask overprints on the powders, and lace with rose motifs on the palettes.
The Felineyes Intense Eyeshadow Quad ($102) comes with complementary shades and textures that allow you to build the intensity, whether used wet or dry.
The best part? It’s long-wearing, up to eight hours.
The cream foundation is now a luminous creamy concoction called Gloriouskin Perfect Luminous Creamy Foundation ($179). It’s a hybrid skincare/makeup formula that brightens your face with comfortable, buildable coverage. It isn’t as heavy as the previous formula, and glides over skin easily. Pro tip: Apply it with a brush, then blend with your fingers.
The most interesting products are the Solar Glow Universal Drops ($69) – one for bronzing and one for illuminating – that brighten any skin tone when added to foundation or moisturiser. With a transfer-proof, hydrating gel-based formula, it gives your cheekbones or neckline a natural shimmer – like a sun-kissed glow – at the right places.
Now, before you dismiss this as just another fashion brand crossover to beauty, here’s the game changer: Dolce & Gabbana Beauty is manufactured by Japanese skincare and cosmetics giant Shiseido. This means you can expect quality over quantity.
While aesthetics are the main driver, R&D features heavily too. Developed with Shiseido labs, all the products contain a key ingredient called the Mediterranean Glow Complex. Using natural fig extracts from the Mediterranean, organic olive oil from Italy and hyaluronic acid, the complex gives a smooth texture on application, and a natural gleam to skin.
Dolce & Gabbana Beauty is at #B2-44/46 Ion Orchard.
