“The PHS Hairscience outlet I went to is located in a quiet corner of Wheelock Place – I felt like I was stepping away from the hustle and bustle.
The consultant started by taking photos of my scalp to do an analysis, and explained what the treatment entailed. She was very friendly and knowledgeable, dispelling myths and dispensing tips with ease. She also shared that the treatment is safe for pregnant or breastfeeding women, and cancer patients.
The session started with a short but invigorating shoulder massage, followed by the brand’s signature double shampoo cleanse, which included a head massage. The shampoos had a pleasant botanical scent, and felt cool and minty. The wash was done with a powerful high-pressure water jet – I could literally feel my scalp getting cleansed.
Next, a serum was applied, using hyperbaric oxygen infusion. What it does is spray pure oxygen onto the scalp to stimulate microcirculation and help nutrients penetrate deeper into the hair follicles. Then, a calming tonic was applied, before the treatment ended with a scalp massage.
Back in the consultation room for a post-treatment scalp scan, I was told that optimal results would be seen after three to six months of treatments, as it takes time for hair to grow. But after this one treatment, I could see that my hair follicles looked clean and less clogged. My hair also felt softer and smoother – this effect lasted a couple of days.
