GOING TO GREAT LENGTHS

Fashion insider WILLABELLE ONG says: “Maxi skirts are definitely the next big thing. Get fancy with a blazer and a voluminous, statement-making skirt a la Louis Vuitton, or do as Saint Laurent does and work a sleek silhouette with a vest and long skirt.”

Midi skirts were trending for a while, but it looks like we are finally moving on to longer hemlines this season. Enter the maxi skirts in a million iterations, from dramatic hoop styles at Louis Vuitton and embellished tulle creations at Alexander McQueen, to the slinky, minimalist designs at Prada. Some of these maxi skirts even came fitted with a train (at Prabal Gurung), but we think the most directional design had to be from Loewe, which came in the form of a black, flowing skirt with structured details.
