LOOK GOOD, FEEL BETTER

-

It can be tough to cope with changes in your appearance due to cancer treatments like chemotherapy and mastectomy. Surrounding yourself with support could help. The Singapore Cancer Society (SCS) Look

Good Feel Better programme is open to all women with cancer who are undergoing chemotherapy, radiation, or other forms of treatment, says Mark Lin of SCS’s Psychosocial Support Services.

“We partner with industry-trained beauty professionals to teach cancer patients cosmetic techniques and hair alternatives, so as to manage the physical changes brought about by cancer treatment. More importantly, we want to create a safe platform for women undergoing cancer treatment to meet with other women going through a similar phase. In the process of learning a new skill, they may make new friends who can identify and empathise with their struggles.”
