KING LIVING 40 years

King Living may have been in Singapore for only two years, but the Australian furniture brand has been plying its trade for a good 40 years. Singaporeans love its sofas; some of the popular pieces include the Jasper modular sofa and the King Boulevard sofa, which feature galvanised steel frames for ultimate durability.

JANUS ET CIE 40 years

The luxury lifestyle brand that started out in Los Angeles in 1978 now boasts 19 flagship showrooms across the world, including in Singapore. An expert in outdoor furniture, it has furnished spaces in the Ardmore Park condominium and 1-Altitude Bar.

The Selecta handheld showerhead is a true classic, both in form and function. Its Plexiglas handle is a refreshing look against the chrome plating of the spray head and, when it was launched, that marked the first time that the intensity of spray could be adjusted with a twist of the spray head.

DIPTYQUE 50 years

Diptyque celebrates the 50th anniversary of L’Eau, the French perfumer and luxury scented candle maker’s first eau de toilette. To commemorate the occasion, the brand rolled out two new scents created by Olivier Pescheux, Tempo and Fleur de Peau, that pay homage to their older sister and the spirit of the ’60s.

Atlas Sound & Vision started as a record library along Market Street in 1963, and has since evolved into a retailer for premium audio and visual systems, with the family’s second generation. Its concept store Atlas Presents @ Millenia Walk provides customers the opportunity to experience the products in a lifestyle setting.

Shockingly revolutionary when revealed in 1958, the Cone chair (by Verner Panton) was originally designed to furnish Danish restaurant Kom-igen on the island of Funen, and to match its interior concept featuring five shades of red.

The legendary Italian designer would have turned 100 this year. He lives on in his products which have since become icons, like the Arco floor lamp and Taraxacum 88 suspension light.

VILLEROY & BOCH 270 years

There aren’t many brands who can boast a history spanning nearly three centuries, but ceramic company Villeroy & Boch are one of the rare ones that can. The German brand’s open secret to its longevity has been its art of updating traditional elements with a contemporary feel, resulting in harmonious fusions.
