The ASUS Lyra uses a tri-band system and supports a total bandwidth of 2,200Mbps, which is almost double that of rival dual-band Wi-Fi mesh networking systems.

3 A DEDICATED 5GHZ NETWORK FOR BACKHAUL COMMUNICAT­ION

Not all mesh networking systems have a dedicated network for backhaul communicat­ion. Some mesh networking systems actually use a single network for users to connect to and for communicat­ion amongst its nodes. It goes without saying then that users of such systems suffer from poorer performanc­e. ASUS Lyra dedicates a single 5GHz network exclusivel­y for backhaul communicat­ions amongst its nodes. In other words, users’ get unadultera­ted 5GHz network performanc­e from the Lyra’s nodes.

4 AIPROTECTI­ON

Not all mesh networking systems have built-in security features like the ASUS Lyra. Sure, most routers have built-in rewalls, but the Lyra goes even further with AiProtecti­on. In a nutshell, it is a real-time networking monitoring feature that inspects incoming Internet trafc and looks out for malware, viruses, and other intrusions based on info provided by top security rm Trend Micro. In addition, AiProtecti­on also checks and alerts users to obvious security vulnerabil­ities in your network like default passwords, weak Wi-Fi settings, and unnecessar­y open ports.

5 WALL-MOUNTING

Not all mesh networking systems can be mounted on walls. Wall mounting actually provides some benets. For one, it is less intrusive, and you don’t have to make space for a router, freeing up said space for other things.
