BEST OF THE BEST OF THE BEST, SIR!

PANDEMIC OR NOT, the show must go on, and about six months ago between November and December 2020, we kicked off the annual HWM+HWZ.com Tech Awards season with our Readers’ Choice polls. As usual, we gave you, our readers a chance to be part of our awards and make a difference by choosing your favourite tech brands.

At the same time, our editorial team was furiously compiling all the reviews we’ve done over the past year to quality entries for the Editor’s Choice awards segments. For the past 12 years we’ve been running the Tech Awards, we firmly believe that this approach provides a better balance to honour both the best products and best brands of the year.

The winners of both Readers’ Choice and Editor’s Choice have been released on HardwareZone.com. And in this issue of HWM, we have provided an in-depth breakdown and analysis of the Readers’ Choice results to you to pore over if you like looking at numbers and charts.

On the other end of the spectrum, while we celebrate the best of tech, we also mourn the exit of another iconic brand in the highly competitive smartphone market. In April 2021, LG announced they will be shutting down their LG Mobile division for good, so in this issue, we’ve also compiled what we think are the boldest devices the brand has brought to market for the past 10-15 years. They weren’t necessarily the best devices, but no one can ever fault LG for not being one of the earliest innovators who constantly tried to break the mould of modern smartphone design.
