Indeed, the additive manufacturing (AM) - or 3D printing - industry grew to US$12 billion in 2019. At one point in 2019, German multinational company ThyssenKrupp estimated that AM could generate US$100 billion in economic value by 2025. While it should be noted that this was a pre-Covid statistic, AM has moved forward in spite and because of the pandemic, with companies like 3D printing manufacturer Formlabs printing 30,000 swabs a day in Singapore last year.

The bottom line is that AM is a growing field, and different industries are already taking advantage of it.
