THE GOOD, THE BEST, THE MOST UNIQUE
Tech Awards season is here for us at HWM Singapore and Hardwarezone.com, and that means releasing our Editor’s Choice results for what we consider to be the best tech gadgets that we’ve reviewed over the past year. In this issue of HWM, you’ll find a consolidated feature showcasing all the winners for each award category and our reason they were the pick of the crop among its competitors. And then stay tuned next month as we try to make sense of your votes for the best tech brands in the Readers’ Choice results.
Now, within the Editor’s Choice awards, there is a section we like to call our Innovation Awards. And let me share a little insider view as this generates the most heated discussion in the HWZ team - one man’s meat is another man’s poison. What constitutes innovation? Is it simply a better product that’s widely accepted, or something wonderful but so niche it would never actually succeed in the market? The debate rages on.
In spirit of the Tech Awards, this issue’s articles and reviews are picked to represent these values of “best” and “innovative”. For example, we’ve got Sony’s LinkBuds doughnut-ring earphones, an ASUS gaming tablet-laptop hybrid, and AMD’s 3D V-Cache gaming CPU, and choice words with Singaporean photographer Lee Yik Keat, one of the youngest judges in Apple’s Shot on iPhone Challenge, on mobile photography.
Enjoy the unicorns.
