What parents say

Joanne and Jun Hao Teo, Singaporean; Kayler Teo (6)

Kayler has been attending Kinderland Preschool since she was two years old and is currently in Kindergarten Two. I (Joanne) was recommended to the school by a colleague and enrolled her at the Yio Chu Kang centre. Throughout the enrolment process, the principal and centre staff were always ready to lend their support and provide an assuring presence. The curriculum at Kinderland is one with higher order learning; there are loads of opportunities for children to experiment. The curriculum doesn’t just cover academics, but also the sharing of good values. Comparing PN1 to K2, there’s a big difference in the way Kayler carries herself now.

Kayler enjoys the social interaction in school, and a big part of it comes from the teachers. She always shares how the teachers engage the class with discussions about various topics. My daughter is generally quite shy, but Kinderland’s welcoming environment allowed her to be comfortable with speaking. She also enjoys the facilities such as the outdoor playground, edible garden and animal sanctuary.

Among the highlights of our family’s involvement with the school are the fundraising events for the underprivileged. The school also puts together home projects, which encourage the children to get their families involved. These projects have helped me to better understand Kayler in aspects such as her attitude, learning needs and areas of interest.

What Kayler loves

Music lessons and Marching Band. I always look forward to my practices as I get to learn new songs and formations. I also like my teachers a lot as they encourage us all the time during practice. I also like speech and drama, and the enrichment activities.
