Capturing Memories

-

What’s their secret? The team says that to achieve photos of kids that are full of wonder and life, it’s important to get down to their level, find out what they like, and play with their imaginations. It helps that their professional photographers have a natural affinity with all ages, making family sessions a funfilled experience. Another bonus is the 2,400-squarefoot shophouse studio, which is full of natural light.

As for the challenge of capturing portraits of unpredictable kids (sometimes shy, sometimes “squirmy”!), Yan from White Room Studio says it’s about getting to know them before the shoot begins. “This allows me to know their names and a little more about them, which can build trust and familiarity. Approach them gently, speak softly, remember their personal space and let them get to know you too.”

A word from a family

“We consider our family the most important element of our life and the foundation for our decisions. Naturally, we wanted a photography studio that could capture our energy and our love for each other without feeling forced or overly posed. We brought our two-yearold daughter Sloane to White Room Studio and had an excellent family photoshoot experience. Yan made Sloane feel comfortable right away and it really shows in the photos from our session!”
